Ithaca Arthaus

Shelter for the body.
Art for the Soul.

Located in the Southern Tier of New York State, the Arthaus is 123 affordable apartments with 40 homes reserved for transition age youth who lack a permanent place to call home. Supportive services are provided through an Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative award to Arthaus services partner Tompkins Community Action, Inc.

The development’s ground floor includes two spaces – the Cherry Gallery and the Cherry Studio – for residents to engage in art and theater-related activities, with assistance from nonprofit partner Cherry Arts, Inc.

BIH Impact:

The City of Ithaca has granted $100,000 to Bring It Home to employ a Move-in Specialist and to provide additional funds for move-in supplies for residents. This is a new, county-wide position, intended to assist residents of multiple permanent supportive housing developments in Ithaca and surrounding communities.
